The
prosser swivel wire line socket is manufactured to the latest
standard API Specifications. Active where it counts most, this type
swivel socket is the most frequently used for wire line drilling. The
swivel rotates in the body of the socket so that the swivel seats
properly to give longer life to the socket. All swivels are hardened for
longer wear.
|
The babcock
stiff wire line socket
is used by putting the line through the top of the socket and then
secured by babbitting the line into the neck from the box end. This
socket does not swivel and is commonly used for fishing jobs.

The
burns open side type uses the same principle as the Prosser socket except that a
slot in the side of the socket allows insertion and removal of the
mandrel for inspection of the wire line or for resetting without the
necessity of breaking the tool
joint. All swivels are
hardened for longer wear.

Buttons for Swivel Sockets![]() Buttons for Prosser or Burns sockets can be used in the seat of the socket after wear to extend the life and efficiency of the tool. Button has same diameter as the swivel. Extra Swivels
