RAMPP rope spears and grabs are available in the three different types as illustrated.  These tools are used when either the drilling line or the sand line breaks and is lost above the tools.  The single prong rope spear is recommended for small holes.  In larger holes where the lost wire line has a tendency to coil as it falls to the bottom, the two or three prong rope grab is recommended.  The two prong rope grab may also be supplied with a latch type bottom so that it can be used for fishing bailers or sand pumps as well as wire line.  The rope spears and grabs are driven down into the wire rope and when the tool is lifted the wickers take hold.  When the fish has been secured the spear should be raised a short distance from the bottom and tested to make certain the wire line is securely caught on the wickers.  Testing the tools will eliminate damage which would be caused by a long fall. Rope Spears - single prong

Grabs - three prong

Grabs - two prong

RAMPP Latch Jacks

RAMPP latch jacks are used to fish out bailers and sand pumps lost in the hole.  The latch jack is lowered into the hole and the hinged latch raises on contact with the bailer or the tool to be fished.  Once the latch has closed again, the fish should be effectively caught and then pulled from the hole.  When ordering specify the diameter of the hole and the joint size required.  Should you desire to combine the characteristics of the rope grab and the latch jack, we suggest the two prong rope grab which can also be supplied with a latch type bottom.
