This tool is used for pulling short strings of pipe or casing. Normally used between the rope socket and stem, the knocking head is screwed into the pipe coupling and the pipe or casing is pulled back by jarring up.
Pipe pulling jars are forged of high quality steel for maximum usage. However, this tool is not intended to take the place of casing spears or casing rings and slips, which are used for recovering longer and heavier strings of pipe or casing. RAMPP slot pipe pulling heads are used for pulling short strings of pipe on casing, but are not recommended for tight strings of pipe when heavy jarring is necessary. This tool is used by slipping the head over the drilling line immediately above the tools in the hole, it is then screwed into the pipe collar. The rope socket neck then contacts the bottom of the slotted pipe pulling head and short strings of pipe can easily be jarred loose and pulled. The head is equipped with a safety latch.
