The RAMCO new style sand pump is furnished in both wire line and rod plunger types. The wire line sand pumps are engineered with a top plunger that weighs the smaller plunger to the bottom of the pump. The small plunger rod has the cup, which is secured by a tapered washer and two lock nuts for easy cup replacement when needed. Both plungers are connected with a ball seat joint. When the pump is lowered into the hole the ball seat is open to let fluid in, and when it is raised the seat closes to create a suction. One of the many features of the pump is that it only has to be lowered to the bottom and raised once to activate the pump, this eliminating numerous pumping motions. To dump the sand pump, loosen to set screws on bottom and clapper assembly is easily removed to allow contents to be emptied. The rod type uses a long rod to put the plunger to the bottom of the pump, using the same ball seat connection as the wire line type. Both types of sand pumps have screw-on neck and bottoms for easy dismantling. They are both equipped with 5/8” API pin connections which enable them to be used with the swivel from the Ramco quick change socket. These pumps cam be furnished with regular bottom or bit bottom. Regular bottoms will be furnished unless specified otherwise. Note: Other types and styles of sand pumps are available upon request. |
